This will be an in-person workshop, run by Hope for the Future, in partnership with Nature Neighbourhoods, for local organisations and groups keen to engage with their politicians and have effective conversations with their politicians/councillors on climate and nature issues.
Location will be at Windsor Community Hall: 6 Windsor Street, Glasgow G20 7NA
It will run from 12 noon until 3.30 starting with time for for lunch and networking. There will also be an optional tour round Hamiltonhill Claypits Local Nature Reserve.
In the workshop Hope for the Future will cover our relationship-building approach, looking at how we can build positive, collaborative relationships with our politicians.
We’ll then move onto looking more at the specific political landscape in Glasgow and how participants can engage effectively with their councillors in particular. We will also explore the Scottish Parliament and the wider political system too. This will help you to develop a strategy as to how best you can work with your local politicians to achieve your aims at your community project.
We will also have a councillor joining us as part of the session, to give you an opportunity to ask questions that will help you to refine your next steps.
