Your Voice Heard: Engage with your MP for the climate and nature

The general election took place on the 4th of July. We now have a new government and we want to see them create a legacy of positive action on the climate and nature crisis.

But what then?

The post-election period is an important point for citizens across the UK to communicate their concerns with their new or returning MPs and move climate and nature to the top of their agenda.

Join us at Hope for the Future as we walk you through a step by step guide to having powerful conversations with politicians. Our training will support you to make an impact, and set you up for a long term and fruitful relationship with your politician, with the aim of making vital policy change for climate and nature.

We'll be covering:

  • A new government 101 - a whistle stop tour of everything you need to know about the new government
  • What it's like to be an MP in a new Government
  • Hope for the Future's relationship based approach in the context of a new government
  • The power and possibilities of building a relationship post-election
  • Practical steps for how to go about welcoming your MP
  • Relevant manifesto commitments which you may want to refer to
  • Framing your ask for different political persuasions
