Here is a report from St Philip and St James' Church in Cheltenham who have been building a relationship with their MP, Alex Chalk, and who recently hosted a Hope for the Future event which Alex attended.
"We have been engaging with our newly elected MP, Alex Chalk, on the issue of climate change. We wrote to Alex, who is deeply concerned about climate change, before the election, and has continued to talk with him since he became an MP. Congregation member Helen Wolfson said "As well as joining the 'Speak Up' lobby in June, and hosting a 'Hope for the Future' day in September, we have written and spoken with Alex on a number of occasions. He is clear that he is committed to decarbonisation and tackling the challenge of climate change. He recently asked a parliamentary question on the cuts to the FIT, and also encouraged us in our work to be an eco-congregation by coming to present our first eco-award. We look forward to continuing our conversations."
